ABOUT THE CAFE

Sacred Grounds Cafe was founded by Jennifer Courtney in 1999. Downtown Edwardsville's lone all-vegetarian dining option, Sacred Grounds has gained notoriety in the St. Louis region for its laid-back atmosphere and unusual cuisine.

Hours of Operation
Sacred Grounds Cafe is open daily from 7:00am - 11:00pm. Check postings in store for holiday hours and closings.

ART ON DISPLAY

Through a partnership with the Edwardsville Arts Center, one long wall in Sacred Grounds is devoted to a featured local artist. Each display of original art or photography resides in the shop for one month. Selected works have included diverse artists ranging from college students to venerable members of the community.

OPEN MIC NIGHTS

Sacred Grounds plays host to the occasional Monday Night Open Mic. Sessions usually start around 7:30pm and end around 9:30pm. Area musicians and poets are encouraged to bring their friends and share their best stuff for the SGC crowd. To find out when the next open mic is scheduled, call the shop at 618.692.4150.

A few Open Mic rules: You must bring your own guitar/instrument, preferably acoustic. Sound system provided. Limit of 4 songs or 20 minutes. Full bands are discouraged - if it takes longer than a few minutes to set up, leave it at home. Cover songs are fine, original tunes are better! Please limit swearing.
