Sacred Grounds Cafe is a unique blend of casual, relaxed atmosphere with high quality vegetarian cuisine and gourmet coffee. Located on historic Main Street in downtown Edwardsville, Illinois, Sacred Grounds serves a diverse community of working professionals based in the downtown neighborhood, students from nearby Southern Illinois University and St. Louis metro-area residents.
Sacred Grounds exclusively servers locally-roasted Kaldi's Coffee. Named the St. Louis area's top coffee by many local publications, Kaldi's offers several organic and fair-trade coffee selections that we are proud to serve.
Our drink options include many varieties of brewed (flavored and unflavored) coffees, lattes, cappuchinos, iced and frozen beverages, all available either caffeinated or decaf. Order it house-style or have our baristas customize your drink to your tastes.
We offer an alternative to the typical restaurant dining experience. Our menu items are prepared fresh onsite, many with organic and local produce (when available). Food selections vary from the comfortably familiar to the exotic. Whether you're in the mood for simple pancakes or a Mediterranean-influenced falafel wrap, Sacred Grounds has a flavor for all pallettes.

Step into the cafe on any given day, and you're apt to find students studying in small groups, business men and women working on their laptops, families playing boardgames and budding musicians quietly strumming the in-house acoustic guitar. Drop in at lunch for a quick bite, or stop by in the evening for a leisurely chat over coffee and dessert. The kitchen is open until 9:00pm, so come by for a late supper. Outdoor seating is available (when weather permits).
